About The Position

The City of Indianola is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor to design, plan, prepare, and instruct assigned group exercise classes. This role involves creating a welcoming and inclusive class environment, acting as a leader for members, and encouraging them to achieve their personal fitness and wellness goals. Indianola is a growing community with a historic downtown, located near Des Moines, known for its outdoor activities, parks, and major events.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous experience, work experience, preferable in leading or instructing others.
• Current Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid Certification or equivalent – prior to starting.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, prepare and instruct assigned group exercise classes.
• Create a welcoming and inclusive class environment.
• Assume a leadership role for members, demonstrating professionalism and group exercise expertise.
