Group Ex Aquatics Instructor- Sussex YMCA Family Location
About The Position
The YMCA of Delaware is seeking a Group Ex Aquatics Instructor for the Sussex YMCA Family Location. Our Promise is to ensure every youth and teen we serve is on a pathway to success, improve the health and wellbeing of every individual and family we serve, and unite communities and inspire service to others. This role involves leading energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals. The instructor will also answer member questions to support their healthy living goals, maintain knowledge of wellness trends, and build effective relationships with members.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community
- CPR & First Aid Certified
- Must have completed a Basic Instructor Training Course and/or completed one specialty certification
Nice To Haves
- Multi-lingual skills
- National Group Exercise Certification (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, or NETA) and/or BS in related field
Responsibilities
- Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
- Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
- Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
- Keeps accurate class attendance records.
