About The Position

Walmart is seeking a strategic and technically accomplished Group Director of Product Management to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our Fulfillment Engine—the core intelligence platform that determines how we deliver on customer promises. In this highly impactful leadership role, you will drive the product strategy behind how Walmart connects inventory, fulfillment capacity, delivery speed, and economics to make intelligent, real-time fulfillment decisions. You will lead the development of scalable, data-driven capabilities that determine what we can confidently promise customers and how we execute those commitments across our extensive fulfillment network. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in complex technical platforms, optimization, and algorithmic decision-making, combined with a proven ability to build high-performing product teams and influence enterprise-wide strategy.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading large-scale, technically complex product portfolios, ideally within eCommerce, fulfillment, logistics, supply chain, or technology platforms.
  • Deep understanding of algorithmic decision systems, optimization, real-time platforms, and data-driven product development.
  • Demonstrated success translating complex business challenges into scalable technical solutions with measurable impact.
  • Strong technical fluency and experience partnering with engineering and data science teams on distributed systems, APIs, predictive modeling, or machine learning.
  • Experience balancing customer experience, operational performance, and financial outcomes in complex environments.
  • Proven ability to build and lead product management teams, develop senior product leaders, and influence cross-functional executive stakeholders.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, executive communication, and ability to drive alignment across complex organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 15 years’ experience in product management.
  • 17 years’ experience in product management or related area.

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or related area and 14 years’ experience as a product manager, ideally working on consumer-facing, large-scale, highly complex B2B/C products
  • Supervisory experience
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Product Vision & Strategy: Define and execute the long-term product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Walmart's Fulfillment Engine. Drive innovation across customer promise calculations, order sourcing, inventory allocation, and fulfillment planning. Align product investments with customer experience, operational efficiency, and business growth objectives.
  • Drive Intelligent Fulfillment Decisions: Lead the development of sophisticated decision-making capabilities that connect inventory availability, fulfillment capacity, transportation options, and operational constraints. Deliver accurate customer promises and optimized fulfillment plans that balance speed, reliability, and cost. Build adaptive capabilities that respond to real-time changes while protecting customer commitments.
  • Advance Technology, AI & Optimization: Partner closely with Engineering and Data Science to develop scalable decision engines, optimization models, APIs, and real-time data capabilities. Leverage predictive analytics, simulation, experimentation, and machine learning to continuously improve fulfillment decisions. Drive technical excellence across system performance, scalability, resilience, and decision accuracy.
  • Deliver Enterprise-Scale Business Impact: Establish and own key performance indicators across promise accuracy, fulfillment reliability, decision speed, cost to serve, and inventory productivity. Use data and experimentation to continuously improve decision quality and fulfillment economics. Ensure seamless integration with downstream execution systems and reliable performance at Walmart's scale.
  • Build & Inspire High-Performing Teams: Build, develop, and lead a high-performing product management organization with deep technical and strategic expertise. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and measurable business outcomes. Influence and align senior leaders across Engineering, Data Science, Supply Chain, Inventory, Transportation, and Customer Experience.
