As the Group Director, Fashion, you will own the strategy, growth, and performance of one of Walmart Marketplace's largest and most visible categories. This leader will define the long-term vision for Marketplace Fashion, drive category expansion, and build strategic partnerships with leading brands and sellers to deliver compelling assortment, value, and customer experiences. Reporting into the Marketplace Category leadership team, you will lead a team of category and account management leaders responsible for accelerating GMV growth, improving customer adoption, optimizing assortment, and delivering strong financial performance across the Fashion portfolio. You will work cross-functionally with Product, Merchandising, Marketing, Operations, Seller Acquisition, and Walmart Merchants to position Walmart Marketplace as a destination for fashion customers and sellers.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in Fashion, Apparel, Footwear, Accessories, Retail, Marketplace, or eCommerce environments.
  • Strong track record leading large-scale category businesses with ownership of revenue and financial performance.
  • Experience developing strategic partnerships with brands, suppliers, sellers, or retailers.
  • Demonstrated success influencing executive stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams in highly matrixed organizations.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to translate data into strategic decisions and business outcomes.
  • Proven people leadership experience with a passion for developing talent and building high-performing teams.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and drive results in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field and 8 years of experience in category management, pricing, merchandising, planning, inventory planning, retail, eCommerce, or a related field; OR 10 years of experience in business, retail, category management, pricing, merchandising, planning, inventory planning, eCommerce, or a related field.

  • Experience leading Fashion, Apparel, Footwear, Accessories, Luxury, or Lifestyle categories.
  • Experience in marketplace, eCommerce, digital merchandising, or omni-channel retail environments.
  • Experience managing large-scale category businesses generating significant revenue and GMV.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the long-term growth strategy for Walmart Marketplace Fashion.
  • Identify emerging customer, brand, and industry trends to shape assortment and marketplace positioning.
  • Establish category priorities, growth drivers, and strategic initiatives that accelerate customer acquisition, retention, and spend.
  • Translate vision into actionable plans with measurable business outcomes.
  • Own category P&L performance and accountability for GMV, margin, assortment growth, and key operational metrics.
  • Build data-driven business plans and forecasts that support short- and long-term category objectives.
  • Monitor performance trends, identify risks and opportunities, and implement actions to achieve financial targets.
  • Expand fashion assortment through partnerships with strategic sellers, brands, and suppliers.
  • Drive category expansion opportunities across apparel, footwear, accessories, luxury, and emerging fashion segments.
  • Partner with Seller Acquisition and Business Development teams to onboard high-value brands and sellers that strengthen category competitiveness.
  • Cultivate executive-level relationships with major fashion brands, marketplace sellers, and industry partners.
  • Lead negotiations around growth opportunities, assortment expansion, commercial partnerships, and category investments.
  • Influence internal and external stakeholders to advance business priorities and create win-win outcomes.
  • Champion customer-focused decisions that improve discoverability, assortment quality, pricing, and overall shopping experience.
  • Partner with Product, Site Merchandising, Marketing, and Analytics teams to create best-in-class category experiences.
  • Utilize customer insights, competitive benchmarking, and performance analytics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Partner closely with Walmart Merchants and omnichannel teams to align Marketplace and first-party strategies where appropriate.
  • Collaborate across Product, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Seller Success, and Strategy teams to execute category priorities.
  • Remove barriers, align stakeholders, and drive execution in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of category and account management leaders.
  • Create a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Build organizational capability through talent development, succession planning, and leadership coaching.
  • Serve as a change leader who inspires teams through periods of growth and transformation.
