About The Position

The Group Copy Supervisor assists in creating comprehensive copy platforms for assigned accounts and works with art directors to develop conceptual approaches that meet client objectives. The role executes copy assignments with minimal supervision, provides strategic input to marketing and advertising initiatives, and demonstrates a thorough understanding of client businesses, marketing, medical and scientific information relevant to agency brands, and current communications. The supervisor works across media, presents creative concepts to clients, follows jobs from startup through production, and reviews copy for accuracy, strategic alignment, and creative quality. Copy must be routed to an Associate Creative Director or Creative Director for review before it is sent to a client. The position operates autonomously day to day while involving a supervisor in major decisions, and requires in-person client travel. The role manages workflow and team workloads, mentors and supervises Junior Copywriters and Copywriters, and assigns work to meet project deadlines. Management duties include reviewing time sheets, providing ongoing feedback, conducting performance reviews, supporting staff issue resolution, and helping interview, train, and orient new team members as directed. The Group Copy Supervisor builds productive client, agency, and cross-department relationships, communicates professionally, manages priorities across multiple projects, and upholds agency quality standards and company values. The role also attends status meetings and relevant trade shows, and uses market research to develop test materials and contribute effectively to research.
