About The Position

The Group Controller will lead group-level financial stewardship in an automotive manufacturing environment (multi-plant, high-mix/volume). This role expands beyond controllership to include business development support, RFQ/quoting and pricing governance, and automated reporting using Power BI and emerging AI-enabled analytics. The Controller ensures accurate, timely financial reporting and strong internal controls, partners with commercial and operations leaders to improve win rates, launch performance, and margin quality, and modernizes the reporting ecosystem to deliver trusted, self-serve insights across the value stream.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 7+ years progressive experience in finance/accounting, including controllership responsibilities in a manufacturing environment (multi-plant or multi-entity preferred).
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent) or substantial equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with cost accounting (standard costs, inventory/WIP, absorption, scrap/rework) and translating plant performance into financial results.
  • Proven experience building or improving management reporting and dashboards; advanced Excel skills; hands-on capability with Power BI
  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally (Sales/Engineering/Operations/IT) and communicate complex financial concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close; deliver accurate, timely financial statements and plant/group management reporting.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis; provide actionable insights on volume/mix, material, labor, overhead absorption, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes; ensure audit readiness and a clear audit trail.
  • Support business development by providing financial models, analysis, and scenario planning for new programs, capacity expansions, and customer awards (OEM/Tier 1/Tier 2).
  • Partner with Sales/Engineering/Operations to build should-cost and pricing models reflecting BOM, routings, cycle times, labor standards, machine rates, OEE/uptime assumptions, scrap/yield, Engineering cost and overhead absorption.
  • Model and govern tooling and launch economics (tooling quotes, amortization, PPAP costs, prototype builds, launch scrap, and engineering changes); ensure alignment with cash flow and capital plans.
  • Modernize finance reporting by designing governed, refreshable dashboards in Power BI for predictive alerts and forecast integration in P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, working capital, and plant operational KPIs (premium/FCOQ).
  • Leverage AI-assisted capabilities (where approved) to accelerate variance explanations, anomaly detection, forecasting, and narrative reporting.
