Groundsperson - Lenoir City, TN
About The Position
This is a full-time position where the Groundsperson will work from the ground to keep the work area clear of debris using various tools and equipment. Responsibilities include preparing and feeding brush into a woodchipper, loading and unloading trucks, performing basic maintenance on equipment, tying knots, safeguarding employees and the public, and flagging traffic. The role requires the ability to work long hours and overtime during emergencies, and may require overtime and/or weekends. A valid driver's license is required, and a CDL is preferred. The position also requires passing a background check and drug screen.
Requirements
- Must have valid Driver's License.

- The Groundsperson may be required to work overtime and/or weekends.

Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred.
- CDL preferred.
Responsibilities
- Works from the ground to keep work area clear of debris using handsaws, pole saws and pruners, hand pruners, loppers, and gasoline-powered equipment to cut brush and trees.
- Define staging areas.
- Setting up and breaking down material, tools, and equipment as required.
- Prepare and feed brush into woodchipper.
- Loading and unloading trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris
- Operating various trucks and equipment as assigned.
- Perform basic maintenance service on trucks and equipment; keep trucks and other assigned equipment in neat and orderly fashion; report the need for major repairs to truck and equipment.
- Tying knots, rope breaks, and speed lines according to industry standard.
- Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area.
- Flag traffic to protect employees and the public from potential harm or injury.
- Able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies.
