About The Position

Professional Tree Care is hiring entry-level trainees who want to become professional Grounds-people, with the goal of advancing to Tree Climbers after a few years. This role requires physical fitness, the ability to learn quickly, and a commitment to a career in the tree care industry. The position is based in Hayward, CA, with work sites ranging from Napa to Monterey and Sacramento to the Bay Area. Candidates must have reliable transportation and live within a 40-minute commute of Hayward, CA.

Requirements

• Physically fit: able to lift 50 pounds.
• Able to work extremely hard for up to 8 hours per day.
• Speaks/reads/writes in English well.
• Not afraid of heights.
• Reliable transportation to the job site.
• A current and clean CA Driver's license (no points or recent tickets).
• Must live within a 40-minute commute of Hayward, CA.
• Must have a clean driving record to be considered for driving a company truck in the future.
• Willing and able to learn Tree Care Spanish (TCS) if you don't already speak Spanish.

Nice To Haves

• Experience doing Grounds-person work.
• Experience in Landscaping work or anything similar.
• Experience in tree care.
• Already speak Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Perform grounds-person duties in the tree care industry.
• Assist in hoisting oneself into a tree using ropes and pulleys once trained.
• Work outdoors in inclement weather year-round.
• Study independently to learn Tree Care Spanish (TCS) if not already proficient.
• Maintain reliable transportation to job sites.
• Maintain a clean driving record.
• Potentially obtain ISA Groundsperson and ISA Tree Climber certifications in the future.
