Joshua Tree Experts is expanding into the Austin, TX market and is seeking a dedicated Groundsman and Plant Health Care (PHC) Technician to join their founding crew. Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience in tree care operations or landscaping.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to regularly lift 25-50+ pounds, maneuver heavy hoses, and work outdoors in varying Texas weather conditions.
  • Ability to work 40+ hours per week, with overtime opportunities available.
  • Excellent communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and a genuine eagerness to learn.

Nice To Haves

  • Possessing or being willing to obtain a Texas Department of Agriculture Pesticide Applicator License.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and diagnose trees and shrubs to identify pest infestations, diseases, and nutritional deficiencies.
  • Safely mix, handle, and apply targeted fertilizers, insecticides, and fungicides using specialized equipment.
  • Calibrate, clean, and maintain all PHC tanks, pumps, hoses, and application gear.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all EPA, state, and local regulations regarding chemical applications and safety protocols.
  • Accurately document daily treatments, product usage, and field observations.
  • Ensure safe drop zones for climbing crew members, assist with traffic control, and protect public safety.
  • Safely operate heavy tree care equipment, including gas-powered chainsaws, pole saws, and wood chippers.
  • Assist with daily vehicle preparation, perform ground-level pruning, and rigorously clean up the job site by loading trucks and feeding brush into chippers.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, identify upselling opportunities, and build trusting client relationships.
