About The Position

Spray Technicians apply pest control solutions, lawn care treatments, and agricultural sprays to maintain healthy landscapes across our primary property at Northern Quest Resort & Casino. This position is year-round and will assist the groundskeeping team with operations during the off-season.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Possession of a current and valid WSDA applicator license is required.
  • 4 to 5 years of experience handling pesticides in similar roles.
  • Knowledge of safe chemical handling and application practices.
  • Able to identify lawn or plant diseases to determine the appropriate course of action.
  • Ability to operate motorized and power equipment as needed to complete required tasks.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and product labels.
  • Functional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tribal Gaming License.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays when required by business needs.
  • Ability to maintain consistent, regular attendance.
  • Valid driver's license and insurability if operating a Tribal vehicle.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare spray solutions accurately according to manufacturer specifications and safety guidelines.
  • Spray or spread fertilizers and pesticides using a variety of equipment on resort property, ranging from handheld sprayers to heavy machinery.
  • Maintain proper calibration of pesticide and fertilization application equipment.
  • Drive company vehicles safely to job sites while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
  • Operate and maintain heavy equipment, aerating machines, four-wheelers, boom trucks, and other groundskeeping equipment.
  • Safely and correctly handle, transport, store, and dispose of chemicals used.
  • Maintain fertilizer and pesticide application records, including inventories, locations serviced, and materials used, as needed for Washington State regulations.
  • Maintain fertilizer and chemical storage areas.
  • Occasional need to pick up supplies from nearby stores.
  • Follow safety procedures and environmental regulations during the application process to protect personnel and the environment.
  • Follow appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements at all times.
  • Provide on-the-job training and work direction to new staff on safe equipment operation, techniques, and daily procedures.
  • Operate snow removal equipment, including but not limited to snowplows, deicing equipment, and snow blowers.
  • Participate in the daily operations of the resort property maintenance.
  • Assist with maintenance duties, moving materials, repairs, and other assignments as needed.
