About The Position

The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining grounds around the Casino, Parking Structures, and parking areas. The role includes cleaning and general housekeeping, operating cleaning and access equipment, pressure washing, painting exterior areas as needed, and responding to emergency accidents and spills. The Groundskeeper also supports customer service and performs other duties assigned to help the department operate efficiently.

The primary work environment is outdoors. The role requires working in a fast-paced, high-demand environment and may involve evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. Employees may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including secondhand smoke. Travel to meetings, trade shows, and conferences may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of the stated minimum educational requirements.
• Minimum one year of experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record, as determined by the insurance carrier, are required because the role involves operating or driving Tribe-owned vehicles or patron vehicles.
• May be required, at the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to perform physical activities including balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.
• Hearing and speech sufficient for communication in person, by telephone, and via videoconference.
• Visual acuity and mobility sufficient to perform the position’s tasks and safely move around work environments and operate a motor vehicle.
• Endurance to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods and maintain efficiency throughout a work shift and during extended work hours.

Responsibilities

• Remove trash and debris from around the Casino, Parking Structures, streets, easements, and parking areas; perform general housekeeping.
• Operate equipment such as auto scrubbers, bonnets, and scissor lift forklifts; pressure wash driveways, walkways, columns, and other areas.
• Paint exterior areas as needed and maintain the Parking Structures and facility perimeter.
• Remove and replace trash liners, wash trash receptacles, and clean and replace sand in ashtrays.
• Clean emergency accidents and spills, including transmission fluid, engine oil, and fuel; keep chemicals in assigned areas with proper Safety Data Sheet (SDS) labeling.
• Promote brand loyalty by providing exceptional customer service to external and internal customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient department operations.
