About The Position

The Groundskeeper position at Sweetgrass Golf Course involves a variety of tasks to maintain the grounds and ensure the course is in optimal condition. This role requires operating various equipment for mowing, landscaping, and maintenance, as well as performing daily upkeep tasks. Safety and timely reporting of equipment issues are crucial.

Requirements

Ability to maintain gas, oil, and other equipment fluid levels daily.
Ability to report equipment problems and failures immediately.
Ability to wear all provided safety equipment.
Ability to abide by all safety instructions for equipment use.
Ability to ensure equipment cooling systems are working at all times.
Ability to report to work on time and in a clean, proper uniform.
Experience operating mowers and string trimmers.

Nice To Haves

Experience operating sod cutters and fertilizer spreaders.
Experience with aeration, verticutting, and spiking greens.
Experience with power rakes.
Experience with excavating and backfilling ditches and trenches.
Experience repairing and replacing irrigation pipe.
Experience operating dump trucks or other light motorized equipment.

Responsibilities

Mow fairways, roughs, greens, tees, and aprons.
Rake sand traps with power rakes.
Aerate, verticut, and spike greens.
Operate sod cutter and fertilizer spreaders.
Mow rough with a rotary mower.
Rake and maintain sand bunkers.
Maintain daily gas, oil, and other equipment fluid levels.
Report equipment problems and failures to the equipment manager immediately.
Set tee markers and cups on greens daily.
Maintain ball washers.
Replace tee towels and flags when needed.
Remove debris, sand, and seed tee and drop area divots.
Clean flowerbeds.
Water and fertilize tees, greens, and fairways.
Assist with course project work, including construction of new greens, tees, and fairways, grading and preparing soil base, laying sod, and seeding tees.
Excavate and backfill ditches and trenches.
Repair and replace irrigation pipe.
Wear all provided safety equipment and abide by all safety instructions for equipment use.
Ensure equipment cooling systems are working at all times.
Report to work on time and be ready for work in a clean, proper uniform.
Operate mowers and string trimmers to trim greens, trees, around fence lines, banks, hillsides, and cart path edges.
Perform other duties as assigned.
