About The Position

The Groundskeeper position reports to officials of the Facilities Services department and performs duties appropriate to the care of the grounds. This role includes sweeping or cleaning sidewalks, tree pits, campus walks, lawns, flowerbeds, terraces and gravel areas. The position also involves emptying exterior trash receptacles, relamping exterior light fixtures, and performing a variety of lawn and gardening duties such as seeding, cutting, raking, watering, cultivating, fertilizing, spraying, and pruning. Additionally, the Groundskeeper is responsible for snow removal on campus perimeter and interior areas, and operating or using a variety of hand and power tools and motorized equipment. Other duties will be outlined in the Grounds Keeping Schedule.

Requirements

• Two years of full-time experience in grounds and gardening work or, A satisfactory equivalent of training and experience.
• A valid drivers license.
• A qualifying written, practical or oral examination may be conducted.
