About The Position

The Shore and Country Club is seeking a dependable and hardworking Groundskeeper to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of all outdoor areas of the Club. The Groundskeeper plays a key part in supporting daily operations and enhancing the overall member experience by ensuring exterior spaces consistently reflect the high standards of our Club. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys being outdoors, and values teamwork. This is a full-time, year-round position that requires availability on weekends, evenings, and holidays during the season.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 2–3 years of landscaping, groundskeeping, or outdoor maintenance experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive and professional demeanor with members and staff
  • Working knowledge of landscaping tools and equipment
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift 50+ lbs. (with assistance or equipment as needed)
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional extended hours
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and occasionally noisy environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a club, hospitality, or recreational environment is a plus
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all outdoor areas including lawns, walkways, parking areas, patios, docks, marina-adjacent spaces (if applicable), and perimeter grounds
  • Perform routine landscaping duties such as mowing, trimming, edging, raking, weeding, planting, and seasonal clean-ups
  • Remove trash, debris, and litter from outdoor areas throughout the day
  • Assist with set-up and breakdown of outdoor furniture, umbrellas, event spaces, and seasonal amenities
  • Monitor grounds for safety hazards and report concerns promptly
  • Perform exterior maintenance tasks including pressure washing, minor repairs, and touch-up painting
  • Operate, clean, and properly store tools and equipment
  • Complete daily work orders efficiently and to Club standards
  • Follow all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Assist other departments with projects and operational needs as assigned
