About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Building Service Worker, this part-time position is responsible for the care and maintenance of landscaping throughout the grounds. The role involves operating various equipment, maintaining flowerbeds, performing custodial functions, and other duties related to facility operations. Applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

Some experience in operation of mowers, weed eaters and other equipment.
Knowledge in landscaping.
Considerable knowledge of hand tools and mower usage.
Minor engine repair work.
Ability to maintain service records of equipment.
Ability to repair sprinkling systems.
Ability to perform work requiring light, medium, and occasionally heavy physical effort.
Ability to follow direction and work well with others.
Must possess or be able to possess a valid Utah Driver's License and have a good driving record.
Must be adaptable to changing work hours as shift hours may be varied.
Working days may include weekends and holidays.
The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds and work in extreme weather conditions.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Operate mowers, weed eaters, trucks, tractors and other equipment.
Use hand tools and some small power tools.
Fix sprinklers and water pipes.
Weed and maintain flowerbeds.
Perform a variety of general custodial functions such as emptying trash, picking up litter, cleaning windows, sweeping and cleaning restrooms and other areas.
Perform other duties in connection with the operation of the facility.
Other duties as assigned.
