About The Position

The Groundskeeper maintains buildings and grounds at an ACC student housing community, including common areas and amenities, to enhance and maintain the property’s curb appeal. The role supports cleanliness and upkeep of both interior and exterior spaces. Training is provided, and opportunities may be available to gain certifications, support nearby properties, and grow through on-the-job training. The Groundskeeper works alongside the service team on maintenance, apartment make-ready duties, property turnover, and other assigned tasks. The role requires safe operation of facility equipment and keeping shops, storage areas, and back-of-house environments clean and organized. Some activities may be photographed or recorded for quality control or training; compliance with the Photo, Video and Voice Recording Policy is a condition of employment.

Requirements

Ability to drive a golf cart.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Knowledge of general labor, housekeeping, and cleaning tasks.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, including understanding and following MSDS rules for handling and using chemicals.
Ability to understand and carry out written or verbal multi-step instructions.
Reliability, attention to detail, ability to work safely, and willingness to learn general labor and property maintenance.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.

Nice To Haves

Prior facilities maintenance experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

Clean the interior and exterior of the property to standard.
Maintain property grounds, including collecting trash.
Vacuum, mop, and/or shampoo floors in resident rooms and common areas, and stock bathrooms.
Assist the service team with work orders, moving furniture, and unloading and storing supplies.
Support apartment make-ready duties, including trash outs, cleaning, and painting.
Assist in the property turnover process.
Support pool maintenance, if applicable, and pressure washing.
Safely operate facility equipment while following safety protocols and best practices.
Keep shops, storage areas, and back-of-house environments clean and orderly, with tools and supplies organized.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Serve as an American Campus representative and liaison in all interactions.
Pick up trash as part of maintaining the community.
