About The Position

The Groundskeeper at Dignity Health Sports Park is responsible for the regular and preventative maintenance of the facility's landscaping, which includes all plants, lawn, irrigation systems, concrete walkways, and loading docks. A primary aspect of this role involves learning how to accurately measure and paint playing fields according to the specific sport being played, ensuring they are prepared for event days. Key responsibilities also include routine field maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, verticutting, topdressing, and brushing the fields as needed. The Groundskeeper is also tasked with applying sprays to fields for weed and pest eradication. Furthermore, the role requires ensuring that all outdoor equipment, including mowers and carts, are consistently maintained and operational. Daily duties also involve keeping loading dock areas neat, clean, and well-organized.

Requirements

A minimum education level of : High School Diploma or its equivalency
Must have a valid driver's license ( to drive gators and carts in/around the facility)
Good communication and customer service skills to be able to work well with other departments and provide good service internally
Must be able to work event nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand for extended periods of 4 to 6 hours at a time.

Responsibilities

Measure and paint playing fields to ensure they are ready for event days
Mow, edge, verticut, topdress, and brush field on an as needed basis
Spray fields to eradicate weeds and pests
Ensure all outdoor, equipment, such as mower and carts are maintained and operational at all times
Make sure loading dock areas are neat, clean, and organized daily
