About The Position

The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the general housekeeping of the grounds according to USDA, OSHA, and company requirements. This role involves various grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing, watering, painting, and trash removal. The position also emphasizes teamwork, adherence to Simmons Operating Systems, and supporting business objectives. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to work in various environmental conditions.

Requirements

Must be able to work in extreme temperatures in and outdoors.
Must be able to work on feet entire day.
Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds from any body level.
Reflective safety vest, safety glasses, hearing protection and gloves (if required), mesh gloves (if using knife or scissors).
Driver's license.
Must be forklift certified/trained.

Responsibilities

Maintains grounds and premises in a sanitary manner.
Responsible for mowing and watering grass.
Painting areas such as buildings and parking lots.
Picks up trash, empties trash receptacles by hand.
Dumps trash in the appropriate area daily by hand and vehicle.
Participates as a member of the Team, fostering strong cohesiveness and supporting team concepts, programs, and policies.
Attends appropriate team meetings.
Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team to resolve issues.
Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems and understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
