About The Position

The Groundskeeper provides basic labor for landscape and flower installation and maintenance. Works outdoors in all types of weather. Drives University vehicles such as trucks, golf carts, mowers, and tractors from site-to-site. Works overtime based on the condition of the grounds and campus event schedules, sometimes on short notice. Works at a series of assigned locations for job related activities, including football games. Accomplishes the essential functions in a timely manner. Performs other job duties relating to job assignments. Meets regular attendance requirements. Leaves work sites clean and orderly. Ensures all tools and equipment are cleaned and materials are secured.

Requirements

Must be able to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with university policies.
Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.
Ability to work long days on your feet, including standing, walking, lifting, and carrying.
Ability to work in all weather and temperature conditions, including heat, cold, rain, etc. depending on the season.
Final candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation and information obtained from social media and other internet sources.
