About The Position

The Groundskeeper reports to and takes direction from the Grounds Supervisor. This role is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of grounds and landscapes across all properties managed by the Building Authority.

Requirements

Ability to work well with others, including other employees, Grounds Supervisors, outside vendors, contractors, and customers.
Ability to work a flexible schedule (snow removal, vehicle breakdown).
Valid Indiana State Driver’s license.
3 Years of Landscaping knowledge and prior experience.
Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs, and lift frequently.
Ability to lift 50 (fifty) pounds.
Ability to swim.
Ability to perform basic Maintenance Equipment Repair.
Familiarity with CMMS Software/Computers.

Responsibilities

Perform mowing, trimming, pruning, watering, and spray operations of grass, flowerbeds, trees, and shrubs at all properties managed by the Building Authority.
Assist in planting annual flowers, trees, and shrubs. Spread mulch in and around all beds.
Assist in snow removal, ice removal, and salt spreading for parking lots and walkways.
Assist with irrigation system maintenance.
Comply with EPA chemical application regulations and Building Authority’s policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Drive to different properties managed by the Building Authority, with lawn care equipment in tow.
Perform maintenance as well as preventative maintenance on the Canal Walk pumps and fountains.
Use a wetsuit to enter and work in water up to 5 feet deep.
Remove graffiti/counteract vandalism, including removing items from Canal waters.
Perform all other duties as assigned by Grounds Supervisor.
