About The Position

The Groundskeeper maintains the outdoor areas and the exterior and interior of the organization’s buildings. This entry-level position performs groundskeeping, building maintenance, seasonal snow removal, and safety checks. Maintenance experience is helpful, but the organization is willing to train a motivated candidate.

Requirements

• Entry-level position; maintenance experience is helpful, but a motivated candidate may be trained.
• Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and proof of insurance.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodation available for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Mow lawns and trim weeds throughout the organization’s property.
• Paint interior and exterior walls and detail trim work.
• Operate snow removal equipment to clear parking lots and sidewalks during winter months.
• Assist with building maintenance and repairs, including addressing plumbing issues and troubleshooting electrical systems.
• Remove weeds from flower gardens and prune shrubs and trees.
• Clean gutters and perform minor repairs to help prevent water damage.
• Check and clean smoke detectors and replace batteries as needed.
• Assist with quarterly inspections of independent homes to identify maintenance needs and support quality living conditions.
• Complete tasks based on written work orders or verbal instructions from the supervisor.
• Maintain the confidentiality of resident, staff, and organizational information.
