Groundskeeper/ Porter: 32 Hour Work Week
About The Position
This role is for a Full time 32 hour work week schedule. Duties include emptying and transporting trash, sweeping and cleaning floors, maintaining storage areas, completing work orders, inspecting and painting common areas, maintaining equipment, removing debris, washing outdoor surfaces, and reporting maintenance issues. The position also requires observing safety precautions and properly utilizing new equipment. The work environment involves exposure to outdoor climate and weather conditions with a moderate noise level. Physical demands include working with cleaning solutions, standing for extended periods, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, crawling in tight spaces, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 20 pounds, handling objects, reaching, navigating the property, and repetitive hand motions. The schedule may change to accommodate business needs.
Requirements
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products.
- Ability to react and address all emergency situations in a timely manner.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with and around chemical cleaning solutions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk and climb stairs, climb ladders, crawl in small and tight spaces; stoop and/or kneel.
- Ability to lift and/or move and/or carry up to 20 pounds or more.
- Ability to handle, finger, grasp and feel objects and equipment.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to quickly and easily navigate the property/building as required, meeting the job functions.
- Ability to repeat various motions with the wrists, hands and fingers.
Responsibilities
- Empty and transport trash and waste to disposal areas.
- Sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors and individual building common areas.
- Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
- Complete all required forms and work orders.
- Routinely inspect common areas to ensure they are maintained clean and in an aesthetically appealing condition by painting when necessary.
- Maintain assigned equipment in good working condition.
- Remove debris from driveways, garages, and swimming pool areas.
- Wash outdoor walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary.
- Report any and all maintenance items to the Building Maintenance Department.
- Observe precautions required to protect Residents, guests and property, and report damages, theft, and found articles to supervisors.
- Properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures prior to using this equipment.
