About The Position

The Groundskeeper is responsible for daily removal of litter and debris from all areas of the property, including laundry rooms, dumpster area, recreation areas, parking, general grounds, and walkways. This role involves completing grounds work such as picking up trash, sweeping curbs, and maintaining areas around the dumpster. The position also includes assisting with various physical tasks, maintenance on vacant apartments, distributing resident communications, and trash-outs of vacated apartments. A key aspect of the role is maintaining a positive work environment and performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be able to work assigned hours as scheduled (20 hours a week).
• Must be able to use hand tools.
• Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of building maintenance preferred.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of groundskeeper or maintenance experience in an affordable housing environment preferred.
• Technical training and license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Daily removal of litter and debris from all areas of the property.
• Picking up trash, sweeping curbs, and maintaining areas around the dumpster.
• Assisting with various physical tasks such as tearing down fences and digging trenches.
• Assisting Maintenance with vacant apartment make-ready.
• Distributing resident communications.
• Trashing out vacated apartments, including removing abandoned furniture, trash, and boxes.
• Performing other related duties as assigned by Community Manager or Maintenance Technician.
• Maintaining a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with co-workers, residents, customers, vendors, and management.
• All other duties as assigned.
