About The Position

Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort is seeking a Groundskeeper III to maintain and upkeep property landscaping and to complete assigned projects. This role involves endorsing the business objectives, ethics, and values of Caesars Entertainment. The Groundskeeper III will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all property landscaping, including applying horticulture chemicals, cultivating, fertilizing, and irrigating landscaped beds and islands, mowing grassed areas, installing new landscaping, trimming trees and shrubs, cleaning parking lots and landscaped areas, and maintaining grounds tools, equipment, and vehicles. The position also requires driving and operating tractors with backhoe and front-end loaders, performing routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Adherence to State and Federal law regarding waste disposal and understanding agriculture chemical labels are crucial. The role also involves performing pressure washing, being flexible and receptive to change, and participating as a team member by volunteering and providing input. Ethical conduct in accordance with regulatory, departmental, and company policies is expected.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Three years of experience in commercial/resort landscape management required (or) Associates degree in Landscape Management or Horticulture or another closely related field with two years, verifiable, commercial/resort landscape management experience (or) Bachelors degree in Landscape Management or a closely related field with one year, verifiable, commercial/resort landscape management experience
  • Certified Landscape Technician certification required from the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS)
  • North Carolina Certifies Pesticide Applicators License required
  • Must pass a required departmental hands-on, skills demonstration exam
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet company driver eligibility requirements, including fewer than three moving violations and fewer than three accidents within the past three years, and no disqualifying driving-related incidents within the past three years, including suspension of driving privileges, DUI/DWI convictions, reckless driving convictions, two or more speeding violations exceeding 25 mph over the posted speed limit, or any citation for unlawful cell phone use while operating a vehicle
  • Must be 21 years of age or older required
  • Ability to drive and operate all types of light trucks and utility vehicles required
  • Ability to operate and maintain all types of lawn and garden equipment required
  • Ability to maintain and repair basic plumbing and electrical systems required
  • Experience with and ability to operate and maintain pressure washer required
  • Able to lead small teams of coworkers when completing assigned tasks

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all property landscaping
