The Groundskeeper II is responsible for maintaining the grounds and facilities at Toyota Field and the STAR Soccer Complex to ensure safe, high-quality playing surfaces and environments. This role supports turf care, irrigation, landscaping, and general facility upkeep, while assisting in the preparation and marking of competition and practice fields. Working under moderate supervision, the position operates and maintains equipment, monitors field conditions, and contributes to event readiness and recovery. The Groundskeeper II plays a key role in delivering a professional playing environment aligned with SS&E standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience in turf maintenance, landscape maintenance, equipment operation, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of equipment and tools commonly used in sports turf, landscaping, or construction environments.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and manage multiple tasks throughout the day.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Must be able to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Must be able to pass a standard background screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance of natural turf, landscapes, and surrounding grounds, including mowing, edging, fertilization, pesticide application, sod installation, and pruning of trees and shrubs.
• Assist with the preparation, layout, and painting of competition and practice fields using provided diagrams and instructions.
• Maintain and repair irrigation systems and support overall field health by monitoring and reporting turf and field conditions to the Turf Manager.
• Operate, maintain, and make basic adjustments to groundskeeping equipment and tools in accordance with training and safety guidelines.
• Complete general facility maintenance across the complex, including upkeep of signage, fencing, buildings, and parking areas to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Provide event support, including field conversions, game-day preparation, and post-event recovery activities.
• Follow all safety procedures, operational guidelines, and organizational standards while performing assigned duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
