About The Position

This position is responsible for performing grounds work and custodial work as directed by the supervisor. The role alternates between groundskeeping and custodial duties every six months. During the warm season (six months), responsibilities include mowing, trimming, weeding, mulching, spraying for weed control, and snow removal. During the winter season (six months), responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, dusting, bathroom cleaning, event setup and teardown, and snow removal as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
  • 1 year experience in Grounds Maintenance
  • 1 year experience in Custodial Maintenance
  • Knowledge of use of equipment such as mowers, trimmers, utility vehicles and tools associated with a grounds position.
  • Knowledge of use of equipment such as different types of mops, cleaning tools and chemicals, vacuum cleaners and other.
  • Must be willing to work in all weather conditions and extremes.
  • Must be willing to work at various stress levels where and around large groups of people at times.
  • Must work well with others, follow instructions, read and comprehend work orders.

Responsibilities

  • Performing grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, weeding, mulching, spraying for weed control, and snow removal during the warm season.
  • Performing custodial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, bathroom cleaning, and event setup and teardown during the winter season.
