About The Position

This is a part-time summer position for 2026. The role involves various groundskeeping tasks to maintain the property's landscape. The position requires physical work outdoors in various weather conditions and includes responsibilities such as plant and lawn care, pruning, weed control, and irrigation support. The assistant will also be responsible for operating various groundskeeping equipment and may need to obtain certifications for certain vehicles.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of yard care equipment.
• Ability to use hand tools (rakes, shovels, trimmers, etc.) for hours at a time.
• Valid driver's license.
• Comfort working outdoors in various mountain weather conditions for long periods.
• Capable of lifting/carrying at least 50 lbs.
• Availability to work some weekends/holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Background in lawn/turf care.
• Experience with flowers, trees, or plants.
• Irrigation system knowledge and repair.
• Safety Focus: Wear proper PPE, follow safety protocols, use proper lifting techniques, and maintain equipment safely.
• Enjoy physical outdoor work and landscaping/gardening.
• Like working in a scenic mountain environment with access to hiking/biking.
• Can handle variable weather and long hours on your feet.

Responsibilities

• Watering, deadheading, and weeding flower beds and containers.
• Mowing, raking, watering, and fertilizing lawns.
• Caring for trees, shrubs, and other plants.
• Trimming and pruning bushes and trees.
• General weeding and applying herbicides/insecticides/fertilizers as needed.
• Assisting with repairs of irrigation systems, including timers, pipes, pumps, and valves.
• Performing other assigned tasks, including coordinating with other employees and event schedules.
