About The Position

This role involves a combination of groundskeeping and custodial duties. The individual will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of buildings and grounds, including restrooms, common areas, lawns, and sidewalks. Duties range from routine cleaning and maintenance to minor repairs and operating various equipment and vehicles. The position requires adherence to safety protocols, including wearing all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Requirements

HS Diploma or GED
Must pass Criminal Background Check & Drug Screen
Valid Driver’s License / MVR Check completed
Must wear all Safety PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toe shoes and proper attire)

Nice To Haves

Groundskeeping/Custodial experience at Industrial and/or Power Plant facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

Cleans restrooms, dressing rooms, shower rooms, classrooms, and common areas.
Stocks toilet and sanitary supplies.
Vacuums, sweeps, and mops floors.
Dusts and polishes furniture and woodwork.
Empties and cleans waste receptacles.
Washes windows and walls.
Polishes metal work; and takes care of equipment and materials.
Sets up and prepares rooms for special events and needs.
Reports needed repair work to proper authorities.
Performs minor repairs to building fixtures and equipment.
Operates and checks low pressure boiler, lights, gas heaters, and other related items.
Waxes and refinishes floors and shampoos carpets.
Picks up paper and other debris from grounds and buildings.
Performs miscellaneous maintenance work such as touch up painting.
Operates a variety of district vehicles and equipment.
Assures security of buildings and grounds during assigned times.
Moves and/or rearranges furniture, chairs, desks, tables, etc.
Performs general grounds maintenance work including watering and mowing lawns.
Blows and sweeps sidewalks, parking lots, tennis court areas, and other assigned areas.
Operates and maintains mowers, sweepers, and other equipment used in the care of grounds.
Inspects tractor and mower for safe and proper operation.
Travels to other sites to maintain grounds.
Monitors campus for necessary grounds maintenance work to assure safety, resolve problems or notify others as appropriate.
Maintains routine records of work orders, equipment repair and maintenance, and chemical applications.
Repairs sprinkler and irrigation pipes.
Responds to emergency calls outside of normal work hours.
Performs other duties as assigned.
