About The Position

Accepting applications for Intermittent Groundskeeper 1. This position can work 1,000 hours per fiscal year (July 1st - June 30th). The Groundskeeper 1 performs routine, non-skilled grounds maintenance duties, including the care, maintenance, and renovation of Tiffin Developmental Center grounds. Responsibilities include mowing, trimming, edging lawns, applying mulch, weeding, watering lawns and flower beds, trimming shrubs, and cleaning grounds, sidewalks, and parking lots. This role also involves clearing walks, roads, and parking areas of ice, snow, and litter, and applying ice-melt salt in winter months. Additionally, the position entails routine maintenance of grounds equipment, fertilizing lawns, trees, and shrubs, planting trees, shrubs, and flowers, and spraying to control insects and disease as assigned. The role also includes the removal and disposal of animal carcasses. Other duties include attending training events and meetings, keeping records, filing incident reports, and escalating groundskeeping-related issues to the Building Maintenance Superintendent.

Requirements

Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
In Department Of Natural Resources only, if assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of revised code, must also possess valid commercial driver's license.
In accordance with Section 124.11 (b)(2) of revised code, Director Of Administrative Services has determined this classification to be unskilled labor class and therefore exempt from written examination.
Equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment.

Responsibilities
