About The Position

The Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) is a trauma informed care agency focused on implementing our core values and providing support to people with developmental disabilities. We oversee a statewide system of supportive services that focus on ensuring the health and safety, supporting access to community participation, and increasing opportunities for meaningful employment. This position performs routine non-skilled grounds maintenance duties, general custodial and maintenance duties, and routine maintenance of grounds equipment. The State of Ohio is a drug-free workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine non-skilled grounds maintenance duties (e.g., mows, trims and edges lawns; applies mulch, weeds and waters lawns and flower beds; trims shrubs; cleans grounds, sidewalks and parking lots by removing papers and debris and operating vacuum sweeper/power washer, uses hand shovel and broom to remove snow and ice; operates power snow shovel when necessary).
  • Performs general custodial and maintenance duties (e.g., delivers materials and equipment).
  • Does routine maintenance of grounds equipment (e.g., cleans, paints, oils, sharpens).
  • Performs routine building maintenance and custodial duties as assigned.
  • Fertilizes lawns, trees and shrubs; plant trees, shrubs and other plants; seeds and sods lawns; sprays to control insects and disease as needed; participates in removal of dead animals.
