About The Position

Management Services Corporation (MSC) is seeking a full-time Grounds Worker to join their Grounds Team for their 795-unit Westgate Apartments and Townhomes in Manassas. The Grounds Worker is responsible for maintaining all outdoor and common areas in a safe and attractive condition, contributing to the community's day-to-day impression on residents and prospective residents. This role requires a high level of customer service and professionalism to ensure the property has excellent curb appeal year-round.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED
Little or no previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is needed

Responsibilities

Physically walk the property frequently to remove litter, debris, and pet droppings.
Maintain cleanliness of all common areas, sidewalks, adjacent to the road, and in front of the office.
Perform "trash-out" duties at vacated apartments daily, removing abandoned furniture, trash, and boxes.
Notify the manager of any diseased, dying, or dead landscape plantings.
Be aware of chemical or fertilizing postings and signs.
Clean the property on a regular basis, including raking, trimming shrubs, and shoveling mud when necessary.
Check and replace exterior lighting regularly.
Clean and maintain the pool as directed.
Perform routine maintenance on the property as requested.
Clean and sweep dumpster areas and all outdoor recreational areas, transferring trash into dumpsters.
Use a blower to keep sidewalks, curbs, and walking areas clear of loose grass and brush.
Shovel snow, plow, and salt or use ice melt as needed, adhering to company/site-specific snow policy.
Clean all common areas.
Maintain awareness of proper safety precautions at all times.
Be aware of all utility meter cut-offs, apartment and fixture cut-offs, and sewer cleanouts.
Wear a support belt and use safety equipment (goggles, masks, gloves, etc.) as tasks dictate.
Pressure wash sidewalks, driveways, and garages as needed.
Assist with "make-ready" duties when requested.
Distribute resident communications, such as upcoming events, pest control notices, and newsletters.
Perform work area clean-up and safety-related duties.
