About The Position

Responsible for the overall care of the grounds and maintenance of the gardens and golf course on all entities and properties at Grand Casino. Golf course duties are specific to the Hinckley Property.

Requirements

One (1) year commercial experience in landscaping, lawn care, golf grounds, maintenance, and snow removal required.
Valid MN Driver’s License and able to be insured under company policy.
Working knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools.

Experience in equipment operation preferred.

Responsibilities

Preparation, planting, and maintenance of all plant beds within the complex and outlying properties.
Utilizing maintenance techniques, including identifying and treating plants for pests and diseases.
Operating company vehicles and maintenance equipment.
Removing trash and debris on the grounds complex daily.
Hand shoveling as snow conditions demand.
Ensuring use of all cleaning materials, chemicals, and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
Maintaining strict adherence to all OSHA safety rules and ensuring compliance with all regulations.
Operating mowers for mowing on golf turf and casino lawns, including equipment up to 80 horsepower with up to seven deck or reel cutting units.
Maintaining consistent complex mowing practices.
Operating irrigation systems, fertilizer spreaders, ground aerators, debris blowers, string trimmers, utility carts, and loaders.
Maintaining fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment daily.
Ensuring equipment cooling systems are working at all times and reporting equipment problems or failures to Management immediately.
Returning all equipment to the designated location.
Setting golf tee markers daily, maintaining ball washers, replacing tee towels and flags as needed, sanding and seeding tee and drop area divots, and hand watering and fertilizing tees, greens, and fairways as directed.
As directed, marking the course for cart control weekly, moving cart control barriers, and replacing worn or lost ropes and signs, marking hazard and drop areas.
