As a Grounds Team Manager you would be responsible for oversight of the grounds team members, weekly upkeep and maintenance of Suburban Inns grounds, including landscaping and snow removal. Assist with oversight of warehouse activities, including storage, receiving, dispatching, security, maintenance, sanitation, and administrative functions.

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret / extract information and / perform arithmetic functions
  • Requires typing, record keeping, word processing, and excellent communication skills
  • Minimum formal education of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Established background in landscape and leadership
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Signed nondisclosure and confidentiality agreement
  • Passed background check
  • Closed-steel toed shoes and long pants are required for uniform
  • All facial piercings must be approved by management
  • Hair must be kept well-groomed
  • All tattoos that are not covered by a work uniform must be approved in writing by management
  • Any tattoo that is deemed offensive to co-workers, guests, vendors or others in the workplace based on racial, sexual, religious, ethnic, or other characteristics or attributes of a sensitive or legally protected nature are not permitted and must remain covered or concealed at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of the grounds team members
  • Weekly upkeep and maintenance of Suburban Inns grounds, including landscaping and snow removal
  • Assist with oversight of warehouse activities, including storage, receiving, dispatching, security, maintenance, sanitation, and administrative functions
  • Operate vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chain saws, electric clippers, etc.
  • Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, hedge or bush trimmers
  • Mow and edge lawns using power mowers, edgers, weed whips, and leaf blowers
  • Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges using shears, pruners, or chain saws
  • Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and assist with oversight of general maintenance and repair as necessary
  • Care for established properties by mowing, spinning, edging, blowing, and weeding weekly. Annual or as needed upkeep includes mulch, fertilizer, sprinklers, pruning, etc
  • Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, or other grounds features
  • Clean flower beds; rake, mulch, and compost leaves
  • Mix and spray and/or spread fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides onto grass, shrubs, or trees using hand or automatic sprayers/spreaders
  • Remove snow from grounds via plow, shovel, Gehl, etc.
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of the condition and location of company fleet vehicles, trailers, rental equipment, and tools focusing on routine upkeep
  • Follow proper securing protocol (chaining, tiedowns) of equipment for transporting
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Maintain a positive attitude throughout the day, and keep team member morale high
  • Hold Team Members accountable to the standards of employment and job performance set by the core values of Suburban Inns
  • Follow all Suburban Inns Processes
  • Undertake special projects requested by management and Executive Officers
  • Exhibit regular and recurrent attendance records
