About The Position

Join our team as a Grounds Supervisor. In this role you will be responsible for the overall grounds maintenance of the Campus, supervision of all grounds employees, and management of all contract administrative functions related to the Grounds Department. This position may require working a non-standard schedule and participating in an on-call rotation as needed. The Grounds Supervisor is also expected to participate in Peer Team calls, campus initiatives, and corporate initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in grounds maintenance required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Be able to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to obtain CPH (Certified Professional Horticulturist) within 1 year of hire.
  • Valid driver’s license is required if operating Community vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage departmental budgets.
  • Purchase equipment and supplies.
  • Oversee contract administration.
  • Supervise and assist in all Grounds Department operations, including the maintenance of lawns, trees, gardens, shrubbery, plants, ponds, parking areas, exterior signage, and boundary fencing.
  • Maintain all associated equipment and machinery.
  • Remove and secure outdoor furniture during inclement weather.
  • Clean bollard lights.
  • Set up umbrellas daily.
  • Assist in the planning, purchasing, and coordination of seasonal decorations.
  • Supervise the overall upkeep of the community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in Peer Team calls, campus initiatives, and corporate initiatives.
  • Perform the administrative duties of the Grounds Department, including developing and managing a budget and purchasing equipment/supplies.
  • Interviewing and hiring of staff, employee coaching, counseling, performance appraisals, and contract administration.
  • Train employees on the use of the equipment and safety standards and policies.
  • Supervise and assist in all operations of the Grounds Department, including maintaining all lawns, trees, gardens, shrubbery, plants, and ponds.
  • Maintain all parking areas, install and maintain exterior signs.
  • Cleaning of all exterior windows and doors, remove snow and ice from roads and walks.
  • Planning, purchasing, and coordinating seasonal decorating.
  • Assist residents with gardening.
