About The Position

As a Grounds & Nursery Services Specialist 2, you work under general supervision to perform a variety of skilled duties to maintain safe, clean, and attractive grounds on the WSU Pullman Campus. This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Requirements

• Ability to do required work
• One (1) year of experience or training involving grounds maintenance, gardening, plant care, cultivation and landscape installation.
• Knowledge of grounds maintenance procedures and techniques, plant material identification and cultural needs, and current horticultural practices.
• Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
• Must have or be able to obtain within six (6) months of hire a current Public Pesticide Applicators license.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule when necessary.
• Ability to demonstrate and use a variety of hand and motorized tools such as; pruners, loppers, shovels, rakes, hoes, mowers, blowers, edgers, litter picker, chain saw, trimmers, string trimmers and sprayers.
