Grounds Mechanic-Equipment
About The Position
This position is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and adjusting a variety of grounds maintenance equipment. The role involves performing minor and major repairs, preventive maintenance, tune-ups, and replacing parts as needed. Additionally, the mechanic will maintain, repair, and adjust mechanical and electrical attachments, troubleshoot and repair electrical malfunctions, and requisition parts and supplies. The position also requires assisting grounds maintenance personnel with various duties, operating grounds maintenance tools and equipment, and maintaining routine records of maintenance and repair activities. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. Regular attendance is essential for the successful performance of this position.
Requirements
- Methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the repair of grounds maintenance equipment.
- Operation, maintenance and repair of a variety of grounds maintenance equipment.
- Proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies.
- Health and safety regulations.
- Basic record-keeping techniques.
- Proper lifting techniques.
- Associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
- Regular attendance in conformance with the standards is essential.
- Associates will be trained in the proper use and care of assigned PPE.
- It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.

- Due to the industry that we are in, a need will occur for each associate to provide “Lateral Service”. Our goal is to ensure that we are maximizing customer satisfaction and as a result there will be times when our associates in the Operation will call upon us for support in order to ensure customer satisfaction occurs. When we are fortunate enough for this to occur, each associate will positively respond unless there is a chance that an opportunity resulting in dissatisfying a guest could occur. If this is the case the manager is to be notified and the level of support that is being requested will be obtained.

Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair and adjust a variety of grounds maintenance equipment; perform minor/major repairs on a variety of equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and tune-ups to equipment; replace parts as needed.
- Perform maintenance, repair and adjustments to mechanical and electrical attachments to grounds equipment; troubleshoot, identify and repair electrical malfunctions of grounds equipment and attachments.
- Requisition parts and supplies and maintain inventory.
- Assist grounds maintenance personnel with a variety of grounds maintenance duties.
- Operate a variety of grounds/grounds maintenance tools and equipment.
- Maintain routine records related to equipment maintenance and repair activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular attendance.
