About The Position

This position is for a full-time Grounds Maintenance Laborer, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with occasional Saturdays. The primary responsibility is to perform general grounds maintenance duties as assigned by the crew leader and zone manager. This includes operating various equipment such as string trimmers, edgers, blowers, push mowers, or riding mowers, as well as performing tasks like mulching, pruning, weeding, and planting. The role requires adherence to all safety rules and procedures, proper equipment usage and maintenance, and stable work behaviors. Employees must be able to adapt to routine changes, follow through on assignments independently, maintain good attendance, and exercise good judgment to ensure a safe work environment. The position reports directly to the Grounds Maintenance Supervisors.

Requirements

Must be able to complete a background check, per company requirements, satisfactorily
Must be capable of performing the essential functions and responsibilities with minimal accommodations
Physical stamina to work at least 8 hours per day
Able to operate hand tools and power equipment for up to 2 hours at a time on uneven and sometimes rough terrain
Able to move about on outdoor unfinished grounds, lawns, paved/finished surfaces, and inclines up to 45 degrees
Able to perform moderate lifting (<50#)
Able to perform frequent bending, stooping, and twisting
Must be able to change routine in a positive manner
Must be able to follow through on assignments independently
Must have stable work behaviors daily
Must have adequate individual coping skills
Must be able to maintain good work attendance
Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions even in emergencies
Must be able to exercise good judgment in an effort to maintain a safe work environment

Responsibilities

Perform general grounds maintenance duties as assigned by the crew leader and zone manager
Operate string trimmers, edgers, blowers, push mowers, or riding mowers
Perform mulching, pruning, weeding, planting, or other general grounds maintenance tasks
Perform all work as instructed by the crew leader and/or zone manager
Use equipment only for the work it was intended for to avoid damage to the equipment, the grounds, and other property
Follow all safety rules and procedures
Observe established break times and the beginning and end of the workday times
Operate assigned equipment safely and in the manner it was intended, avoiding damage to the surroundings, people, other property, and the equipment itself
Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections for assigned equipment
Other duties as assigned
