About The Position
Prairie Meadows Casino, Racetrack, and Hotel is hiring a Grounds Maintenance Team Member to assist in the care of property grounds. This role is for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and have a "green thumb".
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
- Must have a valid Class B driver’s license (CDL with Air Brakes), a safe driving record and must meet company insurance requirements.
- Previous experience preferred.
- Must pay close attention to detail.
- Must be able to operate various kinds of equipment safely and cautiously.
- Ability to communicate and interact verbally and in writing with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Must be able to climb and work from a ladder.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand or walk for an 8-hour shift, bend, stoop, and twist.
- Mowing on hills.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and varied hours.
- May have exposure to chemicals.
- Will be on 24-hour call for snow removal during winter months.
Responsibilities
- Keep grounds properly maintained by planting and maintaining grass, trees, flowers, shrubs, etc.
- Responsible for snow removal.
- Assists with barn and dorm maintenance and repairs.
- Keeps all equipment well maintained.
