635 Grounds Keeper
About The Position
Responsible for maintaining the upkeep, cleanliness, repairs and landscape of the grounds surrounding the Casino. This includes maintaining the landscape of the grounds surrounding the entire Casino structures, snow removal, mowing and raking the lawn, and trash removal. The role also involves providing general maintenance and repair service for company vehicles, maintaining a clean work area, and adhering to all rules and regulations. The Grounds Keeper must stay knowledgeable about all events on the property, attend mandatory meetings and training, and maintain confidentiality. Sensitivity to Native American Culture is important, and the role must operate within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual, Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and other applicable regulations. The position is also responsible for securing the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
Requirements
- Ability to operate lawn machinery and small hand tools
- Valid Minnesota driver’s license and be insurable
- Knowledge of hazardous chemicals and how to properly handle and mix them.
- Knowledge of sweeper, sprinkler system watering, pruning and trimming, mowing, weed eradication and prevention, care of flowering plants, trees, baler and recycling
- Knowledge of riding lawn mower and snow plows
- Knowledge of how to change the oil in snowplows, riding lawn mowers, weed trimmers and edger
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass criminal background check and submit to drug testing.
Nice To Haves
- Heavy equipment operator license beneficial
- Landscaping experience helpful

- Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
