About The Position

Amentum is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Grounds/General Maintenance professional with a strong commitment to maintenance, safety, and customer satisfaction to support a Facilities O&M services contract. This role involves executing day-to-day repairs for all facilities under O&M operations, encompassing equipment, building structures, and landscaping. The ideal candidate will be experienced in organized and dynamic environments.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in general maintenance or a related field.
  • Heavy equipment experience with backhoes, front end loaders, skid steers, telehandlers, and forklifts.
  • Experience with telescopic boom lifts and scissor lifts.
  • Ability to provide and maintain all required certifications and credentials.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications, including online training platforms, timekeeping systems, and email communication.
  • Valid driver's license issued by the applicant's state of residence required.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a LCLM (limited commercial landscape maintenance) license for herbicide and pesticide application.
  • Able to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
  • Able to work in areas of height with MEWPs.
  • Able to obtain and maintain certification for fall protection.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment, ensuring workplace safety remains the highest priority at all times.
  • Comply with all site-specific policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Execute generated work orders from the site’s computer maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Select appropriate materials necessary for the task at hand.
  • Prepare and submit detailed purchase requests for taskings assigned from the O&M supervisor when required.
  • Assist with maintaining shop inventory for day-to-day used items for assigned work orders.
  • Perform jobs/tasks in outside unconditioned environments, working in extreme hot and humid weather, and at times, extreme cold.
  • Responsible for painting structures and equipment, executing basic carpentry, basic plumbing, basic sheetrock repairs, and metal siding patch repairs.
  • Perform landscaping maintenance such as mowing, edging, blowing, weed eating, pruning, brush cutting, forestry mulching, yard debris collection, road grading, pothole repairs, grading, cleaning storm water drains, pressure washing, gutter maintenance, and at times pesticide/herbicide application.
  • Repairing/Replacing door locks, door closures, carpet tiles, floor tiles, ceiling tiles, door trim, doors, cove base, general wood/metal furniture, and broken windowpanes.
  • Responsible for maintaining and cleaning government-issued items and/or property.
  • Perform other duties and activities as directed, such as but not limited to: moving furniture, furniture assemblies, furniture set-ups for outside events, and working with other trades to complete general task(s) in support of the mission.
  • Provide verbal feedback and/or a detailed report to the O&M supervisor daily.
  • Follow schedules and tasks to detail directed by the O&M Supervisor.
  • Works effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Skilled in identifying issues, gathering and evaluating relevant information, establishing facts, and drawing sound conclusions.
