About The Position
The Grounds Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining the beauty and hospitality of Hume’s outdoor spaces in order to help facilitate ministry experiences for campers and guests. This individual provides general care of Hume grounds through basic landscaping and facility maintenance. Hume is a mission-driven, faith-based organization with 3 beautiful camp locations, offering a unique opportunity for year-round camping ministries dedicated to the glory of God. This role is part of something meaningful where your work directly contributes to making memorable experiences and fostering spiritual growth, within a supportive Christian community in a beautiful environment that values faith, growth, and relationships.
Requirements
- No formal job experience required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age at the start of employment to live in summer staff housing.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Willingness to perform physical tasks and work outdoors or indoors as needed.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work under supervision.
- Must agree with and support Hume Christian Camps’ Statement of Faith.
- Must have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to share the Gospel through word and deed.
Responsibilities
- General care of Hume grounds including trimming, digging, mowing, raking, watering flowers, and hauling trash.
- Follow all safety procedures and directions provided by supervisors.
- Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude, contributing to a Christ-centered team environment.
- Represent Hume Christian Camps’ values and mission through conduct, attitude, and service.
