About The Position

Grounds/Maintenance II works at agency sites to maintain landscapes and lawns, complete minor maintenance repairs, assist with snow removal, and help maintain safe walking surfaces. The role maintains facilities and grounds according to assigned custodial and grounds-maintenance specifications and provides person-centered support to consumers according to their individual outcomes and goals. The position is based in Amsterdam, New York, and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for 40 hours per week. Holiday and overtime work may be required. The pay range is $17.50 to $23.07 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in custodial or grounds services preferred.
• Experience in lawn-care procedures and maintenance of lawn-care equipment preferred.
• Good working knowledge of cleaning and grounds equipment and procedures.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Valid, clean New York State driver's license required.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb, bend, sit, stand, stoop, walk, crawl, reach, twist, and kneel.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in custodial or grounds services.
• Experience in lawn-care procedures and maintenance of lawn-care equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facilities and grounds according to assigned custodial and grounds-maintenance specifications.
• Provide person-centered support to consumers on an individual basis according to their personal outcomes and goals.
• Maintain assigned equipment as agreed.
• Maintain materials inventory and request materials as necessary.
• Follow all department and agency policies and procedures.
• Assist with snow removal and maintain safe walking surfaces.
• Complete minor maintenance repairs and maintain landscapes and lawns.
