About The Position
The Davey Tree Expert Company is offering a key opportunity in Utility Line Clearance as a Groundperson. This role requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B. The Groundperson supports other crew members by controlling ropes, limbs, and personnel from aloft, supplying tools to tree workers, and managing traffic with warning devices. Responsibilities include cutting, chipping, loading brush and wood, and ensuring proper cleanup of job sites.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Commercial driver’s license required, Class A or B CDL only
- Pesticide license, if required by state law
- Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines
- ISA Certified Tree Worker certification or willingness to obtain
- Pre-employment Drug Screen and Social Security verification required
Nice To Haves
- Herbicide license a plus
Responsibilities
- Provides support for the other crew members by controlling lowering ropes, limbs and persons from aloft
- Supplying tools for tree workers
- Controlling road and sidewalk traffic as needed by use of warning devices and other methods
- Cutting, chipping and loading brush and wood and proper job site cleanup
