About The Position

This position involves assisting climbers, foreman, and other crew members in performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients. The role includes pruning, thinning, removing deadwood, installing cables and bracing systems, and removing hazardous trees. The Groundperson will also be responsible for maintaining, preparing, and operating various tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts. This is an outdoor role with a new view every day, contributing to the most progressive greenspace stewardship team in the industry.

Requirements

Love of the outdoors
Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
ISA Certified Arborist ®, ISA Certified Tree Worker ®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional ®

Responsibilities

Assist the climbers, foreman, and other crew members.
Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout the tree canopy.
Install cables, bracing, and lightening protection systems.
Remove hazardous trees.
Properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
