Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Valid driver's license
Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions
Ability to lift heavy materials, climb, and work around utility equipment
Willingness to learn utility linework and safety procedures
Ability to work effectively as part of a crew

Nice To Haves

Previous construction, utility, or outdoor labor experience
Class A CDL or ability to obtain
Interest in pursuing a lineworker apprenticeship or utility career path
Experience operating equipment, tools, or utility vehicles

Responsibilities

Support Safe Line Operations: Follow all safety rules, regulations, and Cooperative procedures. Participate in daily job briefings and tailboard meetings. Identify hazards and help maintain a safe work environment. Properly use personal protective equipment and safety tools. Maintain safe work zones around crews, equipment, and the public.
Assist Line Crews in Construction & Maintenance: Assist with the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems. Load, unload, organize, and transport tools, materials, and equipment. Operate hand tools and assist with utility equipment under supervision. Help inspect poles, lines, transformers, and related equipment. Perform groundwork to support energized and de-energized line operations.
Support Outage Restoration & Emergency Response: Assist with storm restoration and outage response efforts. Participate in on-call rotations and emergency assignments as needed. Work extended hours during outages and emergency situations to help restore service safely and efficiently.
Work as Part of a Team: Follow instructions from the Line Foreman and crew leaders. Maintain professionalism when interacting with members and the public. Assist with maintaining vehicles, tools, and equipment. Contribute to a positive team environment focused on safety and service.
