About The Position

Rogers Group, Inc. is seeking a 2nd Shift Groundman at their Lacey’s Spring Quarry in Lacey’s Spring, AL. This role reports to the Plant Manager and requires a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation. The company is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,000 employees, established in 1908, and recognized as the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States.

Requirements

  • Properly follow all company policies and regulations for safe working procedures and environment
  • Ability to maintain safe working conditions
  • Self-motivated individual, must be able to perform required duties without constant supervision
  • Able to perform a variety of duties, some which may include plant clean-up, maintenance, operating equipment and other duties assigned
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Must be willing to work weekends and overtime
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen

Responsibilities

  • General plant/mine labor and clean-up of production areas, including shoveling stone from around conveyors and assist with plant clean up and operations
  • Operate a variety of heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Perform daily pre and post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies
  • Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management
  • Operate equipment with a high degree of safety and intermediate skill level
  • Being trained in various other entry level production positions and fill in as needed during vacations, absences, and increased production demand times
  • Report equipment problems and identify them to management
  • Light maintenance work and maintain the belt lines
  • Assist with plant operator duties as needed
  • Complete equipment pre-shift report – if applicable
  • Assist other workers as needed or directed and other duties as assigned by management
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment
  • Other duties as assigned by management
