About The Position

The Groundman is your first step to a rewarding career in the construction and maintenance of our nation's Power Grid. You will report to the Foreman. This role involves performing new construction, maintenance, and repair of de-energized powerlines, installing and repairing overhead transmission lines, poles, insulators, conductors, and related hardware. The position requires rigorous physical labor, maintaining company vehicles and equipment, and working outdoors in varying environmental conditions. Availability for outages, storms, and emergencies, including on-call rotation, is necessary. The role also includes inspecting rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and following all safety protocols.

Requirements

Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 60 days.
Willingness to travel long distances on short notice.
Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Work for extended periods at different job locations, including out‑of‑state assignments.
Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

Responsibilities

Perform new construction, maintain and repair de‑energized powerlines while putting safety first.
Help install and repair overhead transmission lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
Perform rigorous physical labor and regularly lift heavy tools and equipment.
Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good work order.
Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.
Inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Follow all safety protocols and understand when to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
