About The Position

Primoris T&D is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Groundmen/Entry-Level Lineworkers in the Tampa Bay area. This is an excellent opportunity to begin a career in the electrical utility industry while receiving hands-on training and working alongside experienced lineworkers. In this role, you will provide essential support in the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electrical power systems. You will assist with preparing materials, handling tools and equipment, and maintaining a safe and efficient worksite.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain.
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays when required.
  • Ability to follow safety requirements and learn utility-industry procedures.
  • Dependable, safety-minded, and willing to learn.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings.

Nice To Haves

  • Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist lineworkers with preparing and organizing tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Perform general labor duties, including digging, moving materials, setting up job sites, and clearing brush.
  • Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment from company vehicles.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely under supervision.
  • Assist with the installation and maintenance of overhead and underground electrical systems.
  • Follow all grounding, job-site safety, and company procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Participate in daily safety briefings and pre-job hazard assessments.
  • Assist with traffic control and flagging duties when needed.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors and crew members.
  • Travel to project locations and work extended hours as required.
