About The Position

Expanse Electrical is looking for exceptional people to join our team. We have immediate openings for Class A CDL Groundman/Operators skilled in Distribution Pole Line, substation work and URD. This position works at various locations and may also be required to travel to another state depending on customer demands.

Requirements

2 year minimum of recent field experience or Coursework in Powerline trade
Safety-minded and follow safety regulations
Valid Driver’s License, Commercial Driver’s License
Reliable transportation to travel when necessary
Willing to submit to pre-employment, random and for-cause drug testing
Ability to effectively and regularly converse and comprehend in English

Responsibilities

Work safely in new construction, maintenance, or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead work, Distribution Pole Line, substation work and URD.
Install overhead wire, set poles and anchors, install transformers, lightening arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear.
Troubleshoot primary and secondary systems, replace cutout fuses, and clear faulted circuits and systems.
Safely install and remove mechanical jumpers, understanding how to obtain a one shot on a re-closer.
Climb different types of structures (wood, steel, etc.) and possess the necessary tools to do so.
Assist journeyman linemen with the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical power lines and equipment.
Perform physical labor like digging trenches and setting poles.
Prepare and assemble materials and tools.
Operate utility vehicles and hand tools.
Perform site cleanup.
Stock materials.
Ensure a safe work environment.
