About The Position

Q3 Contracting (Q3C), a division of Primoris Services Corporation, provides construction contracting services in the gas, oil, electric, and telecommunications industries. The Groundman role is an entry-level field position and the first step toward gaining experience for potential qualification into Q3 Contracting’s Lineman Apprenticeship Program, which prepares employees for a career as a Lineman Journeyman. Groundmen provide support to lineman apprentices and journeymen while developing an understanding of materials and their applications, tools and their proper use and storage, and the basic work of the trade. Work includes site preparation, excavation, and construction cleanup.

The desired start date is November 2026; applicants are asked to provide their available start date. Compensation is $43.58 per hour, paid weekly. Candidates are subject to drug testing in this drug-free environment.

Requirements

• Class A CDL.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Experience working with ropes and knots.
• Candidates are subject to drug testing.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred understanding of DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Hand tools, ropes, and hardware to linemen working on poles or in bucket trucks.
• Dig holes for utility poles, clear brush, and pad ditches.
• Load and unload equipment.
• Transport equipment.
• Stock materials.
• Drive commercial vehicles and fuel vehicles.
• Maintain and care for tools and equipment.
